On Feb 1, Tenley turned 4 months old!!

4 months old

The past 4 months have gone by so quickly and I am still in awe of her everyday.  She's still a happy, fun baby that learns and does something new every day!  At her 4 month appointment the Dr gave her a good report and told me that we could start feeding her baby food.  Baby food?!?!  I was NOT prepared for that.  I was prepared for rice cereal in her bottle or something like that but BABY FOOD?!?!  WHOA!  Nonetheless, we tried peas!!  She wasn't sure what to think of them at first but after a couple of days she has started to open up her mouth when she sees that spoon coming her way!

These things aren't so bad!

We had a great time last month when our cousin Georgia came to visit us.  We had so much fun and Georgia was such a big help while she was here and Tenley absolutely LOVED her!!

And the hardest part...she started daycare (which I like to refer to as "school" b/c it doesn't make me feel so bad)!  But so far it is going well and she is doing great.  I guess since she's the only baby I'm really around I don't realize how advanced she is.  The teachers said that she does stuff that the 6 month olds can't do!  As usual, I am SO proud to be her mom!!

She made her first trip to the farm a couple of weeks ago and she had so much fun with her KT & Pa, Aunt Sissy & Uncle Ray, and her cousins, Kenn, Andrea, Kyle & Allie!

This picture was taken a while ago but it is one of my absolute favorites!!  I was changing her and she gave me the biggest smile that her little face could give and I almost cried and peed myself at the same time when this is the face that I saw!!  Look at all those cheeks and chins!!  I absolutely love it!!  She is such a precious baby and a precious gift from God!

Tenley is a huge Falcons fan so she was pretty upset last night when they lost to the Giants.  Oh well, there's always next season!!

After months and months of a hiatus, mainly b/c I didn't know what to write about, I'm back!!  I've decided to use this space as a way for friends and family who aren't blessed with our presence to be able to keep up with us!  So, not much has happened since I last updated...KIDDING!!


We're now a family of 4!!  No, not twins...but we count Axel as one of the family...that's normal right?!?!  Anyways, Tenley Caroline Cain made her entrance on October 1, 2011!!  As cliche as it sounds, she's the best thing that has ever happened to us!!  She's such a sweet, easy, awesome baby girl!!  I couldn't be happier.  She was born at 7:57 am and weighed in at a healthy 8.3 lbs and she was 20 in long!!  AND BEAUTIFUL!!!  I'm biased but I'm also a realist and this kid is CUTE!!!


Labor was a great and easy experience...no horror stories from me!!  Travis and I were joined by my sister, my mom, and Travis' mom in the delivery room!!  My mom got to cut the cord since Travis wasn't all about it!  haha!!  Although they weren't in the room with us for the actual delivery, there were many others that stayed up at the hospital and hung out with us ALL night while we were waiting on her arrival (My Pa, my dad, my step-mom, Travis' dad, Sandra, and my Aunt Tommie)!  Yes, I was so grateful for every single person that was there but was particularly excited that my Aunt Tommie, who lived in DC at the time, just happened to have a layover in Atlanta on her way home that day.  She was able to land, catch a cab to the hospital and be there JUST IN TIME for the birth!!  It meant so much to me and I was so glad when I saw her walk in the room...still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.


Anyways, so that's the gist of it...now I'll get you up to date with some pictures from the last 3 months.

3 months old and PERFECT!!

*Most importantly - Tenley has already been to her first football game, naturally!!!  In November we went to Cullowhee, NC to watch Western Carolina (Travis' brother, Blake is the punter) play Travis' alma mater, Coastal Carolina (Travis' brother Austin is a punter and his brother Grant is a coach).  It was an amazing day for the Cain family.  It was a brawl of Brothers and Coastal won!!  Unfortunately, we do not have any pictures from the event but it was an amazing day nonetheless!

As you can imagine, we have thousands of pictures but these are just a few to get this blog up to date on our lives.  Tenley turned 3 months old on January 1st!!  We were so blessed in 2011 and are looking forward to a happy, healthy 2012!  Love you all!
